Abundant Sun

August 30, 2014

I’m slightly obsessed with the sun and I feel as though I really need to soak it up like it’s water, essential in super huge doses for my well being. It’s an instinct for me to follow the sun and be outdoors whenever it’s shining it’s beautiful bright light. During the winter I simply can’t get enough. Lucky I live in the sunny state of Perth, where the sun greets us so often. I’m so energised by it’s healing rays. When I’m at the beach basking in it’s glory, it’s as though time stands still, and there is an abundant source of warmth, light and energy refuelling my body and soul.

It’s only one more day now and I’ll be visiting the beautiful Bali for some serious replenishment and sunshine. I’m beyond excited and grateful for this well timed, much needed trip into bliss. Stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled on my Insta for some very cool Bali posts coming over the next couple of weeks.

Lots of love and gratitude,

Helen xx

Tribal Vibes

August 30, 2014

Loving the tribal vibes of this festival inspired outfit. Dripping in suede and fringe and cultural gems with a tonne of silver. This Lokoa poncho is just insanely soft and divine. I can’t get enough of it. It fits to perfection and I think it’s a definite must have wardrobe item for all those wild tribal boho goddesses out there. Throw in some flash tattoos and tribal jewels from the ever awesome Child of Wild and you’ve got yourself the look.

Feeling blessed that each day I have the chance to explore different styles and aspects of myself. This is my art. And I believe that as we dress each day we have the chance to create something magical, something enlivening, that represents the magnificence that we are.

With love and gratitude,

Helen xx

Dream Catcher

August 27, 2014

Bare feet on the sand, wind in my hair, salt on my lips, dancing upon the edge of the ocean as the sun beams it’s glorious rays upon my skin. This is the magical setting that ignites my dreams and makes anything possible in my reality.

If you are feeling a little low and in need of a pick me up, find yourself some natural inspiration in your surrounds. Clarity and peace will come, and allow yourself the space and time to immerse yourself in it. Revel in the beauty that is all around you, and that is you. From this centred, nurturing space your passions and spirit will fire up. Now is the time to dream big and run wild along the earth as you plant the seeds of manifestation.

We are all powerful beyond measure. We all have the ability to create abundant and love filled lives for ourselves. Take some time to slow down, centre yourself, dream and acknowledge you are the creator of your life.

With love and gratitude,

Helen xx

Dancing in the Light

August 25, 2014

“The dance between darkness and light will always remain – the stars and the moon will always need the darkness to be seen, the darkness will just not be worth having without the moon and the stars.”  C. Joybell. C

Some days the ocean and sand sparkle like the stars in the night sky and remind me that everywhere I look I can see the beautiful balance of nature. The sparkling light of the stars against the black of night, the sun shining through the deep abyss, illuminating our path. Sometimes I have to look harder, especially when the dark veil is heavy. Though it’s in these times, when I can see the sparkling light, I always know, without a doubt, that there is a way home to the heart.

Always remember that no matter what the conditions of your life are right now, there is always something to be thankful for, a sparkling light, a glimmer of hope, something wonderful amongst all the pain and turmoil. The more we focus on the beauty and the light, the brighter it becomes, and your reality will reflect that.

This beautiful sunset I danced upon the starry sands in gratitude for all that I have. The air in my lungs, the gravity that holds me to this earth, the cherished love in my life and each heartbeat that fills me with love. Life is magnificent!

With love and gratitude,

Helen xx

Ernest & Joe

August 19, 2014

When it comes to fashion there is not much more that I love than exquisite jewellery….and especially when there is an amazing heart and soul behind the creations. I’m honoured today to share with you all a little about this amazing label I recently discovered – Ernest & Joe.  Absolutely divine jewellery, simple, clean lines, incredible quality with great attention to detail, making them next level for me.

Behind the scenes of this label is beautiful mother and daughter duo, Sally and Mia, creating this magic together. The whole family is involved in this creative passion of theirs, and we are the lucky ones who get to have a piece of this art made with love. Here’s a little interview I did so you can find out more about this lovely duo.

How did Ernest and Joe begin?

E&J began after I came home from a big trip around South East Asia, Mum suggested that we do a short course in silver smithing together and from there we combined forces and created our little business. Ernest was my Pops (Mums Dad) middle name that he didn’t like, but I loved, and Joe was Nans Dads name, so masculine for such feminine jewellery!

What are your greatest passions in life?

We are very down to earth people and as long as we have our tight knit family around us we are happy. We are extremely devoted to E&J, we don’t get much time to do anything else…lucky we love it!

Who is/are your major style influences/inspirations?

We try to keep all of our ideas as original as possible, we don’t really go hunting for any inspiration, we just wait until an idea pops into our head and we work from there. We like the simplicity of our designs.. we probably like them a little too much, i am always pinching stock to keep for myself!

What do you love most about Ernest and Joe?

We love that Ernest and Joe is entirely hand made in my back shed. We love that our two employees are my Brother and Sister. We love that my little baby Violet scoots around in the shed under my dogs watchful eye. We love that we have created something that means so much to so many people. Most of all I love that I get to hang out with Mum every day making jokes and beautiful jewellery.

What are your future dreams?

We would like to keep building our little business up and be able to employ my Brother and Sister full time.
We are excited for E&J to become a recognisable name here in Australia and around the world.
We are pretty happy to keep taking the opportunities that come our way. We just want to make jewellery forever!!

I don’t know about you guys but I’m in love. These guys just peel it back to what matters most and their beautiful designs are a great representation of all that they are about.

Here’s to family, love, following your heart and doing what you love, each and every single day. Thanks for the inspiration Sally and Mia :)

Planet Blue

August 14, 2014

Standing upon the fringe of the earth

I awaken to the unseen

Connected to the source of all creation

To the earth, the sky and the in between

In reverie I’m reminded of my true self

Ever expansive, floating in a sea of green

A magical day spent on this magical earth, in the most magical of clothes and adornments from Planet Blue, Child of Wild and Embella Jewellery.

It was total bliss and I’m grateful every day to experience even just one moment of this magnificent life on this beautiful planet of ours.

With love and gratitude,

Helen xx
