“Do not be afraid to shine your light. It is a beacon for those lost in the dark, a reminder of the way home”
This post is dedicated to all the beautiful souls out there who have journeyed to the light this past week, and to their loved ones who are grieving their loss. I’m sending a whole lot of loving vibrations out to all who need it right now. It’s been a pretty sad news week, both in our home and in our world. We all need so much love and light.

It’s probably obvious by now that jewellery really speaks to my heart….the gypsy in me is beyond excited by all the creative energy and love that goes into each piece. Matters Speaking have really captured my heart with their divine pieces of jewellery. Simple, elegant and powerful emotive messages that speak directly to my soul. I love that you can share these with family and loved ones as the perfect gifts. A beautiful reminder to those you care about most they are always in your heart.
With the holidays almost upon us, and our families across the country and seas, I am feeling rather nostalgic these past few days. If life has taught me anything, it’s to say all that you want to say right away. Never wait. There might not be another day. Act now, today, this very moment, and let those you love know how much, and all you are grateful for.
Where to start…there are just so many wonderful things to say about the The Nest Hair Boutique. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it. For all those woman who walk to the beat of their own drum, you will absolutely LOVE it! Based in Perth, this one of a kind boutique salon is run by owner and inspirational entrepreneur Charlie Crothers. It oozes style, character, charm and bohemian chic. It’s a hidden local gem, just like that amazing cafe down that little back alley that you don’t want to tell anyone about. What struck me most about this space was it’s relaxed feel and positive radiant energy. Decked out in white washed wood, handmade candles, unique giftware, and amazing products exclusive to their salon, The Nest is in a league of their own. This beautiful environment draws you into the moment and brings you an uplifting experience that is so far removed from your every day hair salon. From the moment I entered I melted into the chair and felt so calm and serene. I had such a great time chatting, laughing and connecting with the inspirational stylists who work there. It was such an overall pampering experience and I left feeling happier than ever.
And I haven’t even got to telling you all about the hair yet! These stylists so know what they are doing! I was actually feeling a little down beforehand about the breakage I was experiencing from frequent colouring. Since having my hair done at the Nest boutique I haven’t had any new breakage and my hair is feeling thicker and healthier than ever. They began using cutting edge products, like Olaplex, to prevent breakage and strengthen the hair shaft whilst lightening my hair. Coupled with some Davines shampoo and conditioner and Olaplex treatments, my hair has never felt better. Charlie also introduced me to this great technique called base breaking to lengthen the time in between colours, so as the roots grow out it looks far more natural. My mini depression over my hair has been lifted and I owe it all to The Nest Hair Boutique. Check them out, especially blondes as they specialise in blonde hair and will keep your colour vibrant and hair healthy at the same time.
When everything around you encourages you to step up your pace, it’s more important than ever to remind yourself to move at your own pace. Stay grounded and focused on caring for yourself, by only doing what you can. And know that what you do…is always enough. I feel so much peace wash over me simply when I say the words “I am enough”
I hope you all have a wonderful, peaceful ride as the holiday season inches closer. Be easy on yourself if you are already feeling burnt out. There is no need to be more than you are. Because you are already more than enough. You are everything!
It’s about that time again….you know that itch, that travelling itch that comes every now and then. A deep yearning to explore the earth, step forth so fully and completely into every corner of the globe, leaving no stone unturned. I’m envisioning crisp white sands, vibrant turquoise waters, dolphins and sunshine :) Luckily I live in such a beautiful part of Australia that even a quick trip to the beach can feel like a mini holiday. I’m planning a mid week getaway soon (sans kids) to get me over the hump before the crazy holiday season heats up even more. I’m so excited to explore another little corner of this amazing earth. Stay tuned!
Here is one of my holiday inspired outfits from my recent beach adventures. The sunsets lately have been so insane and when you can catch a day with that calm breeze it just doesn’t get any better than that. Total bliss.
December is rolling around wayyyy too fast this year and I’m deep into holiday styling and basically all things that remind me of sipping sunset cocktails as I relax by the ocean. Summer in Australia is almost here and I’m beyond excited about the many months of warm sunshine, blue skies and incredible sunsets that await. I’ve put together a little holiday edit of some of my favourite summer styles I’m obsessing over from amazing embellished bikinis to the perfect white summer lace dress. And of course some sparkly jewels and embellishments to add that something special to your holiday outfits.

We are all round just celebrating life this week! I just got the all clear from my doctor (no more cancer), and then I found out I won the Free People blog love award for Trendsetter. It was really one amazing thing after another this week.
But more than anything I’m celebrating that each and every day I get to live my creative dreams that bring me so much joy. I’m so overwhelmingly grateful for this awesome life and all the beautiful souls I get to share it with! I LOVE YOU ALL SO MUCH!!!!
And my dearest beloved husband, Bobby Bense, who has never wavered in his unconditional love for me, has been my everything this past month. It’s truly those rough and challenging times that test the resolve of your marriage. I couldn’t be more in love and more connected to this man…who also happens to be the incredible photographer that takes all my photos. And of course my gorgeous little children, reminding me each and every day about presence, joy and love. To see the magic in the mundane. To embrace vulnerability and live each moment as it comes.
I feel so blessed for this recent health crisis. However scary and challenging it was, it led me to a deeper expansion of my heart and brought the most invaluable insights that have changed me forever.
Count your blessings every day lovelies. There is always something to be grateful for. Find the sparkle wherever you can and focus on that. It will lead you to more love and joy than you can imagine.
November in Perth is probably the windiest time of year here, especially those late afternoons anywhere along the coast. And I’ve just recently learnt we live in the 3rd windiest city in the world! For this reason, I’ve been trading in my sunset beach sessions lately for sunrises. And I’m not really a morning person, or at least I thought I wasn’t. Until, I actually found myself on that beach, so early in the morning. As my feet touched the sand, I felt a pulse of energy awaken me. And as the sun rose anew, I could feel the endless possibilities it brought with it. I was immersed in daydreams and imagining all kinds of wonder for my day. I happily shimmied along the shoreline watching the sun rise higher and become brighter with each passing moment. Each moment brought further awakening and I am definitely rethinking that morning person thing ;)
I was lucky enough to wear this divine Harriet Jane Sunrise silk dress on this very bright and early morning. This beautiful designer, based in Byron Bay, takes some breathtaking photos of nature and then takes it to the next level and combines these with her stunning designs to produce wearable art. Each design is made with recycled, organic or natural fabrics with state of the art digital printing technology to produce an exquisite piece of consciously made clothing. Not only am I in love with her pieces, I love that she celebrates nature through this creative process, bringing us all the beauty she captures, and inspiring us to take care of our precious earth.
Wherever you may be, I hope you all have time to experience the magic of the rising sun. I assure you it will awaken and renew your energy :)
“See the world as if for the first time; see it through the eyes of a child, and you will suddenly find that you are free.” Deepak Chopra
This beach adventure was filled with rainbow orbs and incredible light. I felt so much like a child again. You know that abundantly joyful feeling of being ever present, simply shifting from moment to moment, following your excitement and zest for life. I want to bottle it up and have it with me everywhere I go. It’s freedom, it’s peace, it’s happiness…. Like Eleanora Duse said “If the sight of the blue skies fills you with joy, if a blade of grass springing up in the fields has power to move you, if the simple things of nature have a message that you understand, rejoice, for your soul is alive…”
