“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” Vivian Greene
Having one of those stormy weeks and realising that no matter what storms pass through my life, I will embrace them, lovingly. Because they are me. And this is my life. And to really allow yourself to feel and validate the multitude of stormy emotions that can arise will bring you even faster through the eye of the storm and to the rainbow on the other side. Each of life’s beautiful experiences is a wonderful lesson, that brings us closer to peace. We can choose to embrace and learn the lessons or resist, ignore and repeat them. I find that meeting the pain (which is simply a painful thought) with a loving intention really helps me find the peace and gratitude once again.
Sending you all love and peace for those stormy days.
“Magic exists. Who can doubt it, when there are rainbows and wildflowers, the music of the wind and the silence of the stars? Anyone who has loved has been touched by magic. It is such a simple and such an extraordinary part of the lives we live.” Nora Roberts
Whatever you believe in, that is what makes you the person you are, and all that you see in the world and those around you. Our beliefs govern our thoughts and our actions, the words that come from our tongues, the emotions from our hearts. Every moment we have an opportunity to question what we believe about ourselves and to reinvent our life. We have the chance to be anything at all. And this great gift is what can turn your days into absolute joy.
In the quiet gap where stillness lies, and there is only the present moment, allow yourself to question those beliefs that bring only stress and suffering. This is the space where the serious magic happens. Where we can choose to let go. Where we can dream and conjure, and choose what we want to believe in. I choose peace, love, light and the path of harmony each and every time. I choose to see magic in everything around me, and so I do. It only takes a moment of being in that quiet gap to allow the insight to arise, and let go of the ego that tries so hard to protect us. I say let’s be vulnerable and experience love and joy the way that children do (and we once did). And see the magic in everything, and most of all, see the magic that we are.
With the new moon upon us, it’s a wonderful time to plant new seeds of intention. I’ve spent these waning weeks in reflection, gaining clarity, reassessing everything! Today I feel very clear as I set forth my intention to flow harmoniously with the pace of nature. I want to really experience all the moments of my life with peace and love, rather than thinking about how to get from here to there. And rather than a need to necessarily slow down, (which I kind of need too) it’s more about finding peace within the chaos. Adjusting my sails and moving at a more natural rhythm. I’ve spent some time looking within to dissolve those threads that drive me into stress. I’ve allowed those beliefs to show themselves and gently be defused. And now I’ve awakened clearer, lighter and with even more acceptance for myself. I’ve come to realise that I want to follow my joy and passion within each moment of my day. To honour myself for who I am and all that I value. To see my worth with all the blossoming love in my heart.
Now is the time to refine our intentions for each day that we live on this amazing planet. I encourage you to spend this new moon time imagining all that brings you happiness and fills your heart with joy. Follow your passions and let us all live a beautiful, kind and peaceful life :)
I moved like a gently flowing river, ever so gracefully embracing the currents….the wind gently caressed my skin, and the warm ocean water met my bare feet.
This divine afternoon I floated upon the golden sands in this most exquisite Saboskirt dress and goddess jewels from Grace Bijoux. This entire outfit evoked so much light and grace within me. I felt extraordinarily feminine, fully embracing of my sensuality, and birthright of pure unconditional self love.
“The greatest thing in the world is to know how to belong to oneself.” – Michel de Montaigne
As much as I love to be around people and their inspiring energies, I also deeply yearn for solitude….And perhaps it’s in part my Finnish heritage, though I think it’s more than that….it’s that time I get to refuel, to simply be and go deeper within, to reflect and create and imagine from a place of complete stillness.
These photos were taken on a quiet still morning in Bali at the magical Kubu beach at Ayana Resort. There wasn’t a soul in sight as I walked along the beach allowing my connection to the earth to centre and rejuvenate my being. I feel so thankful to know myself, to understand with love and compassion the needs I have, and to take action to care for them. Every single act of self love builds my energy stores and sets my vibration soaring to a place where only complete wellness can exist. For those suffering from illness of any sort, I urge you to step out in nature, somewhere peaceful, somewhere still, where it’s just you and the elements. Allow this space and experience to refuel your being and bring healing to every cell in your body.
Who’s planning a Bali getaway soon!! I’m already dreaming of another ;) haha! I’ve been to Bali quite a number of times now since it’s only a 3 + a bit hour flight from Perth, and we are always trying to find that perfect space and location that really resonates with our aesthetic and laid back holiday style. We were lucky enough to stay at the beautiful Fraser Baye villas on this recent trip of ours and it was just divine. A fabulous luxe villa layout with privacy and all the essentials that you could possibly need to help you bliss out by the pool in the sunshine. Need a coconut drink, cocktail, some delicious authentic Indonesian food, banana pancakes, a babysitter, a driver or any information at all, you’ll have the most attentive staff on hand at Chloe’s kitchen pod to cater to your every whim. Feel like an incredible massage by the ocean at an amazing price point, then stroll on down to Micks place. Want to add to your rejuvenating holiday experience and get in a yoga sesh, eat some delicious organic food, and drink the best smoothies and juices ever, then less than a minute walk is the lovely Cashew tree. We even stepped out for lush cocktails at El Kabron beach club and had some incredible tapas as we watched the sun setting over the Indian ocean. Everything we needed was within walking distance, which meant no need to drive anywhere, and this in itself was just so wonderfully relaxing for us :)
The villa itself boasts an incredible luxe teak 4 poster king size bed overlooking the infinity pool and gardens. Though the outdoor stone bathroom is probably the most incredible part of this place. You have to see it for yourself to really take in all of it’s beauty.
Overall the laid back pace of Bingin, and being a short walk to the magical Indian ocean, sealed the deal as our favourite little nook on this magical island paradise. Bobby was so happy to be within walking distance of some of the best surf breaks in Bali. It was really more than just a beautiful place to stay for us….it brought with it a communal, local vibe that we had not experienced in Bali before.
Here are some of our pics from our amazing stay at Fraser Baye and the local places/beaches we visited while we were there. I miss you already Bali!
