There is great strength, beauty and freedom in vulnerability. As we peel back the masks, embrace who we are, and share our authentic self, we enrich our experience of life, we deepen our connections, heighten our senses, and a natural unfolding of gratitude and love follow. Our beautiful delicate nature unveils our potential for growth, healing and happiness.

It’s been forever since Mother’s Day and this post is seriously long overdue. It was such a beautiful day spent at our local beach of course hehe ;) It was a little crazy though, the sea was growling and super rough, and the sand was covered in seaweed. We set up this gorgeous lacy crochet throw from Losari home and woman and had some beautiful time soaking up the sunshine. It was a lovely, warm afternoon, and even though the beach looked like a bomb had gone off, it was absolutely so beautiful in all of it’s glorious mess. It reminded me how important it is to speak and honour our truth. No matter what that might be or how messy one might feel. To really allow ourselves to be vulnerable and share who we are. It felt as though mother earth was having an off day, but in actual fact she couldn’t have been more perfect and beautiful.

When we allow others to truly see who we are, to drop the masks we hide behind, to share our vulnerability, we open ourselves up for deeper connections with those we love. And we can live a more peaceful and free life. It takes some peeling back of the many layers that we create for ourselves and some inquiry into our thoughts and beliefs. And this can be painful at times too. And it can be exhilarating as well, especially in those moments when you realise your ability to choose your thoughts and beliefs and you release yourself from suffering.

Take some time to go within, listen to your thoughts, question them, look at their roots and the beliefs that house them. Imagine how good it feels when you don’t believe or think those painful thoughts. Choose to let them go, even if only for a minute, and feel the peace wash over you.  You no longer have to replay the hurt. You can choose a new story, one that makes you feel good, and replay that like your favourite record.

With love and gratitude,

Helen xx
