I’ve had the recent pleasure of trialling and reviewing the 28 day Fruiteatox. A beautiful herbal tea formula designed to encourage metabolic processes in the body. This means more energy, increased clearance of toxins, increased metabolism of important hormone messengers and neurotransmitters that help keep us mentally, emotionally and physically healthy.
It’s been 28 days now and I’m feeling lighter than ever thanks to Fruiteatox. My energy has definitely improved and so has my sleep. I’m feeling more balanced, less mood swings, especially prior to my cycle, and improved digestion. And though I didn’t choose to partake in this program to lose weight, but rather to gain energy, it is wonderful for those looking to lose weight. The amazing combination of lemon oil, yerba mate and ginseng is the perfect adjunct to a healthy eating and exercise regime. It also does so much more, like improve skin health, digestive health and support your adrenal glands – these guys sit on your kidneys and are responsible for how you cope with stress.
This delicious tea comes as a day (lemon) time and night (orange) time formula. Bringing with it increased energy during the day and a restful, peaceful sleep at night. The herbs work harmoniously and gently to support the natural processes of the body.
If you are considering a cleanse or in need of a little extra oomph, I highly recommend this herbal tea as an adjunct to your health regime. Since I already eat a very clean and simple diet, this was the perfect little something I needed to step up my energy levels. This time of year, where we are transitioning into either summer here in the south, or winter in the north, we can use a little extra support to get our lymphatic systems moving.
Here are some additional naturopathic tips from me to support your overall wellbeing -
- Dry skin brush. I can’t emphasise this enough. Not only will you have glowing skin, but the brushing movement on your skin will encourage the lymph and blood to circulate. This improves oxygenation and nutrition to all the cells of your body. It also encourages removal of congestion, immune complexes, and any other debri that might be clogging up the lymph fluids. By clearing out the lymph, and ensuring good hydration, with filtered water and herbal teas like Fruiteatox, you will feel fresher and more energised than ever.
- Eat small, frequent meals. Overeating will cause fermentation of your food and upset the delicate balance of microbial flora that live harmoniously in your gut. This flora is responsible for creating and modulating vitamins and neurotransmitters that influence our thoughts and emotions, and even sleep. Read more about the gut and brain connection HERE.
- As mentioned above anything that effects the delicate balance of microbial flora in the gut can potentially slow your metabolism. This includes too much sugar, junk food, alcohol, yeast foods, consuming allergenic or intolerant foods (dairy, corn, gluten etc), and stress. This is a very short list. Basically keeping everything in moderation is key. Up the raw veggies if you’ve had a few too many wines the night before or a candy binge. And consider taking good quality probiotics for support. As a general non specific all rounder I like Bioceuticals Ultrabiotic 45.
Please note – these are general guidelines and not intended for those with severe chronic illness where they require individualised support and treatment. Always consult with your doctor and/or naturopath to ensure if a product/treatment is right for you.
So for the past 28 days I’ve been taking my thermos with me everywhere filled with my delicious Fruiteatox. Here are some pics from a recent beach trip feeling ever so alive and refreshed. The simple act of drinking the tea each day, something so easy and simple, has been so nurturing for my being. It’s an act of love and a message to myself that I am worthy. I think for mothers who are constantly in demand to take care of the needs of small children, these small acts are more important than ever.
I hope I inspire some of you beautiful souls to make a small step towards improving your health today. There’s no need to make huge big changes all at once that are difficult to sustain. But rather one small step towards whole health. It might be to decrease your sugar intake, take a walk each day, dry skin brush, cut the coffee and switch to herbal tea….whatever it may be, acknowledge the act itself as love for yourself. Sending love and wishing you all an abundance of health and happiness.
