A few weeks ago…or maybe even a month now (WOW!) I had the pleasure of visiting the Hobo + Hatch pop up shop down south in the beautiful town Cowaramup, in the Margaret River wine region. The vibe and beauty of this town and shop was so relaxing…I didn’t want to leave! If you get the chance to stop by on your travels it’s a must! So many of my favourite labels like Rue Stiic + Arrow Divine all in the one place. And what a space it is! So perfectly decked out with peacock chairs, divine tapestries, worldly jewels and cow skulls. See pics below!! I was lucky enough to pick up one of their yakadiyak wool/cotton shawls and it’s been keeping me warm and cosy during this sudden seasonal shift right into winter! And not only are they divine, each purchase supports communities in Nepal. “By purchasing from our Yakadiyak range you’ve helped make a small difference in the lives of others. We will continue to donate our time & money to the Nepalese community that touched our hearts & forever changed our soul” – Leona, Hobo + Hatch. Nothing better than wearing conscious clothing. Feels soooo good in so many ways :))))
These photos featuring this beautiful scarf, were taken a couple of weeks ago when summer was still hanging around for one last party :) The golden light in the afternoon seems to intensify during this time of year. The sunsets are so brilliant and deep, just like the autumn leaves. It’s yet another magical time of year with so much beauty to be thankful for.
“Your core, lying deep within you, is what makes you what you are. Some call it the soul, the Higher Self, the true self, the being and so on. The name is unimportant once you realize that you are more than your looks and outward appearance.” – Stephen Richards
It’s been a really amazing start to the year for me. Since finding out about my degenerative spine condition late last year, I started a holistic healing regime focused on management, prevention and regeneration. Strengthening my core from a physical perspective has never been more important. To be strong in my core holds my spine in place. And I’m soooo happy to announce that in only 3 short months I am now able to do handstands on the beach with no ounce of pain or discomfort, just pure joy and happiness. I attribute my healing to a combination of clinical pilates, daily meditation, and shifts in my vibrational energy. My core, my soul, my higher self, which are all really just who I am, is also an energy system, that requires fine tuning every now and then. Grounding exercises, breathing, sound healing, affirmations, choosing peaceful, loving thoughts, earthing (walking barefoot), eating organic, raw, vital foods all raise the vibrational frequency of my energy and are also part of this healing process for me. I can see this beautiful glowing sphere of golden light within, at my centre, at my core, that is stronger and brighter than ever. It spirals outwards, ever expanding unto infinity, illuminating everything in it’s path.
On this beautiful sunset evening, all cosy in my Rue Stiic wardrobe staples and jewels from my all time fave babe Child of Wild, barefoot on the earth, I could feel how deeply grounded, how balanced and strong I have become…to the very core of my being. This is something I value greatly, and will continue to work at in order to maintain this level of health. I accept there may be days when things will slide the other way. Those are the days I’ll be extra kind to myself, extra easy on myself and will remind myself that there are always better days ahead.
Nothing beats a day of breaking the rules, jumping barb wired fences, almost getting caught and getting your ass kicked by nature, if only for that moment of ultimate creativity. Such a rush!
My husband and I literally tossed a coin to determine which way to drive on this day. As we drove north, my vision began to take form and I quickly and maybe not so quietly said “PULL OVER NOW!” haha! Almost instantly I found myself dancing and playing in this beautiful field. Although there were a few minor issues…it was private property…eek! And we were very nearly caught by a man on a tractor making a beeline for us! And then there was the largest family of flies buzzing around that I’ve ever seen! Not to mention the slither of nearby snakes! It all just added to the fun of it for us. It reminded me of my carefree days…. BK (before kids). It was exhilarating! That essence of freedom and feeling alive that can often be dulled with everyday life and routines.
I hope to inspire you to push the boundaries of your everyday. Take a day trip somewhere with no plan and allow spontaneity to drive your path. Dream, trust and create your own world with love.
As the mornings get frostier, and the bed gets cosier, I find myself dreaming of summer days with such delight knowing that summer will once again return :)
Dreaming of seashells, bright morning light, turquoise waters, beaming sunshine, bare feet in the sand, lacy slip dresses, crochet bikinis, and sipping sangria on a hot summer’s night as I’m dazed by the magical sunset on the horizon….ahhhh….
All this wonderful summer dreaming was inspired by some precious gifts I recently received from Soul Makes Jewelry. The Amazon Shores necklace is a creation straight from a summer dream ~ heishi beads surrounded by cowrie shells and one huge, powerful, healing piece of glorious Amazonite….an instant uplifter to the soul. This necklace was made with so much heart and soul, just like everything from Soul Makes Jewelry. My gypsy rock pyrite bracelet is very special too. Exactly what I’ve been dreaming of..chunky clusters of healing pyrite, all bound together. Such a perfect stone for me, bringing balance between the two sides of my nature.
And then to top it all off a little arm candy arrived from Nik Dreamer to brighten up my day even more…gorgeous beads full of mystical charms, reminding me of my bliss.
