A few weeks ago…or maybe even a month now (WOW!) I had the pleasure of visiting the Hobo + Hatch pop up shop down south in the beautiful town Cowaramup, in the Margaret River wine region. The vibe and beauty of this town and shop was so relaxing…I didn’t want to leave! If you get the chance to stop by on your travels it’s a must! So many of my favourite labels like Rue Stiic + Arrow Divine all in the one place. And what a space it is! So perfectly decked out with peacock chairs, divine tapestries, worldly jewels and cow skulls. See pics below!! I was lucky enough to pick up one of their yakadiyak wool/cotton shawls and it’s been keeping me warm and cosy during this sudden seasonal shift right into winter! And not only are they divine, each purchase supports communities in Nepal. “By purchasing from our Yakadiyak range you’ve helped make a small difference in the lives of others. We will continue to donate our time & money to the Nepalese community that touched our hearts & forever changed our soul” – Leona, Hobo + Hatch. Nothing better than wearing conscious clothing. Feels soooo good in so many ways :))))

These photos featuring this beautiful scarf, were taken a couple of weeks ago when summer was still hanging around for one last party :) The golden light in the afternoon seems to intensify during this time of year. The sunsets are so brilliant and deep, just like the autumn leaves. It’s yet another magical time of year with so much beauty to be thankful for.

Divine Light

April 21, 2014

IMG_0261 IMG_0294IMG_0258IMG_0234IMG_0286IMG_0270IMG_6022 IMG_0275IMG_0288 IMG_0238IMG_6120 IMG_0229IMG_0235 IMG_0303IMG_0324 IMG_0319IMG_0328IMG_0306 IMG_0305

The divine light in me honours the divine light in you. Namaste

I’ve spent many days watching the changing light reflect off the ocean and sand like a divine mirror reflecting all that is. This time of year it has a particular iridescent sparkle, an opalescent glow, and serious magic about it. I’m drawn to it like no other. I crave to be near it, as it ignites my inner wisdom and replenishes my energy.

I’ve recently gone through some deep introspection and felt my heart expand further, and even deeper into love. As I’ve meditated upon the ocean tides and celebrated the moon phases, a greater understanding and love has been evolving within. An understanding of the divine tapestry of life. An acceptance of it’s flow. An unconditional love for myself, regardless of what my circumstances may be. I’ve shed many tears to come to this place and I foresee many more to come as I journey this path. Though ultimately as we accept and love ourselves for who we are, we experience a deeper and more joyous state within our being. Our lives are richer, fuller, our experiences and connections more authentic and real. The vibrational energy of love heals the wounds that once felt unforgivable, and lifts our experience to pure childlike joy. Our inherent nature is restored. As the love for myself grows, it is reflected in the unconditional acceptance and love I experience for every being. As my soul’s eye opens up to the divine light within, I begin to see it in all beings, and know that we are all reflections of divine light and love.

This outfit post was right up there with one of my favourites shoots. It was so effortless and fun. Childlike, playful, even a little cheeky. I was floating in the clouds, yet grounded to the core. I felt infinite, boundless, expansive. In love with life.

Sending infinite amounts of love and light to all you beautiful, magnificent, divine beings. I love you all.

OHHHHH YAY!!! I’ve been dying to get this blog post up and share these photos and this awesome giveaway!!! I get soooo excited when it’s time for a giveaway and I can share the love with you all. And this one is absolutely incredible! One that will be sure to pamper and nurture your body and soul.

These photos were taken last weekend during our family road trip adventures down south. On a beautiful, serene beach cove called Smith’s Beach. Quite possibly the only spot in the very flat WA that reminds me of the Northern California coastline (our second home). On this particular afternoon, in between soft rain showers, we strolled along this beautiful beach, watching the light change from a golden glow to an icy mist. It was completely invigorating. It was the most relaxing, connecting, pampering, nurturing, loving day for our family. It was the perfect space to photograph these divine creations and fill them with loving vibrations to be passed on to the soon to be lucky owner of this pamper pack.

For the giveaway, I’ve teamed up with Roadtrip Jewellery and Potion Products to bring you the ultimate gift pack of goodies! I must say it’s all soooooo good! The shell jewels will make you feel like a mermaid, on a tropical island getaway,  and the beauty products are insanely divine. 100 % organic and of the highest quality and standard. As a naturopath, I am conscious of what I use on my skin, as it absorbs everything. I always opt for organic skin care that will bring nourishment to my body, not chemical burden. I absolutely love that you can use this Potion Products argan oil on your hair and skin, enriching it with essential fatty acids, bringing hydration and a luminous glow. You can start your daily ritual with the Moroccan Lava Clay as a simple cleanser, creating the perfect base to absorb all the amazing goodness of the organic argan oil. The clay can be made as a thicker paste to be used weekly and even as a body mask. Along with these beautiful Potion Products, you’ll also receive some stunning Roadtrip Jewellery creations. I am so inspired by beautiful creator, Jess Baynes, who designs these free spirited, road trip inspired pieces, from the heart. Be transported to your island paradise with all these divine creations and feel the love with which they were created.

Boho Crochet Heaven

Crochet is something that has always been close to my heart. I grew up watching my extraordinary mother crochet intricate designs for hours on end, as though it was her own form of meditation. As a child I was always in awe of her skill and patience….and nothing has changed there. I was lucky enough to learn this art from her, so I know how challenging it can be. So when I wear handmade crochet designs, I feel that extra bit special, knowing how much time, love and energy went into creating it. Every boho goddess needs a little crochet in her life.

Here I have the honour of sharing a truly gorgeous piece from Sumika. The festival fringe top is the perfect fit and you get a little midriff show without it being too cropped. Wear it as a bikini top, with denim cut offs or your fave maxi skirt and don’t forget the flowers in your hair :) Check out Flower Gypsies for some beautiful designs…they make such a great range of flower crowns.

To this outfit I added my Lyloh sarong. Made from super soft Organic cotton jersey, dyed with indian almond leaves, creating a beautiful eco friendly sarong.

And a little extra something special from the divine Beauty in Numbers. These barefoot ‘Gypsy Feet’ crochet sandals were made by her lovely mother :) How cool is that! Just makes my heart so happy to share such lovely creations with you all :)

My second outfit features a beautiful Jen’s Pirate Booty dress. It’s one of those easy summer boho dresses, super flattering and flowy and oh soooo comfortable. I could style this dress so many ways, though I was in the mood for simple silver jewels and a floppy wide brim hat.

I’m counting my blessings for all these beautiful handmade creations in my life. Each and every day I practice the art of appreciation. It can be for the simplest of things. And especially on those days where I feel completely snowballed and as though my entire universe has collapsed….these are the days I practice even harder. I remind myself that I am alive, that all I have is this moment. And that this moment is filled with an infinite amount of possibilities. I can choose love, joy, freedom, whatever I want. Sometimes I simply have to let go of my focus on the hurt, because it just extends the suffering, and I choose to see the great stuff, the beauty and the blessings, the wonder, the inspirations that surround me wherever I may be. Find them, practice the art of living and loving the moments. Life begins to mirror your internal world and more of the same will be created.

With love and gratitude,

Helen xx

“hark, now hear the sailors cry,
smell the sea, and feel the sky
let your soul & spirit fly, into the mystic…” ~ Van Morrison

I simply can’t get enough mermaiding this summer! To be one with the sea, revitalised by the nourishing waters, all worries washed away. I’m so lucky to live near the beach, and in a country with an abundance of sunshine and blue skies. I know there are many who don’t live near the ocean, and some who have never even seen the ocean. I really try to cherish the fact that the ocean is so close and make the most of it whenever I can. It’s such a blessing! I feel so alive and free when I’m there….to simply sit and watch the sunrise, ride the waves, or dance in the sand.

To all those in winter on the other side of the world, or those who live far from the ocean…I’m sending you sunshine vibes and the hope that soon you’ll get to visit the beautiful ocean once again.

With love and light xx

“The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek” ~ Joseph Campbell

This quote is so very fitting for last weekend’s adventures. We set off north to the coast for some surfing and mermaiding. We found ourselves in a secret surf spot exploring heavily eroded limestone caves. We were surrounded by sharp, brittle and super dangerous caverns that were so breaktakingly beautiful. Regardless of the danger and repelling nature I was so drawn to them. I sat within this natural shelter, in complete awe, as I watched mother nature’s power. Uncomfortable at first, I soon began to face each fearful thought with acceptance. I realised that fear is not something to escape, but rather something to find comfort in. To allow fear space to simply be, to melt into it, you discharge it. This once arid and unhospitable environment had become my centre for meditative reflection. Once I had found this place of comfort within, that initial draw to be there had vanished. Almost instantaneously I found myself laying in the sand watching the offshore waves roll in. A day of sunshine, surf and mermaiding followed.

I took a large swag of some recent clothing and jewelry faves with me to the beach. I had soooooo much fun playing dress ups out in nature, deeply inspired by her beauty.

Another of my favourite quotes that pretty much sums up the rest of the afternoon ~ “Laying low with our toes in the sea, I’ll be your mermaid, I’ll be your sea queen.” ~ unknown source.

Surrender to your fears and allow them to simply be…you will soon discover they will no longer hold any power over you.

With love and gratitude,

Helen xx

A trove of treasures

tossed and washed ashore

moulded and shaped

by the oceans relentless roar

a creation of sacred beauty

of legend and folklore

she brings forth her bountiful gifts

in gratitude we adorn

I remember as a young child I was fascinated by the ocean, by all the seashells and mermaid tales. I was always around water as a child. My father regularly took me fishing, my mother shell collecting and my sisters chaperoned me to the beach whenever the weather was hot. I was blessed to have nature thrust upon me at such a young age. I wasn’t a child who spent their time watching tv or playing video games. I was always outdoors, imagining, creating magical dreams and fairytales. Drawn to myths, legends and fantasy, my daydreams were as wild as my actual dreams. My appreciation for mother earth and the sacred began at this early age and I’ve always drawn great joy and presence in the simplest of things – studying the fantastical geometry of a sunflower, watching ants carry crumbs for hours on end, endlessly searching for rocks in the hope that one might be a magical crystal, and forever will I be mesmerised by the beauty of a seashell….something so perfectly created, always wondering about it’s journey and all the places it has been.

With summer on it’s way I’m brought back to my love of all things tropical. The beach, the ocean, mermaids and shells. We were blessed over the weekend with one glorious warm day, perfect for a family beach frolic. We photographed these 2 outfits throughout the day, as we lazed and played in the sand and sun.

I hope to inspire you today to rediscover the childlike joy in those magical moments spent in nature. You only need to walk outside of your home to find your little piece of heaven and enter an entirely other world. Dream up stories and allow your imagination and fantasies to run wild and be free.

With love and gratitude,

Helen xx
